Megan's Egypt Slide Show

Welcome to Megan's Egypt Slide Show. Jackie and I went to Egypt in January of 2004, with a group of students from Beloit College. We flew into Cairo; the first group of slides is from Cairo and surrounding areas. From there we flew to Aswan in the south of Egypt; the second group of slides are Aswan. The third group of slides starts as we leave Aswan, heading north to Luxor in a bus. After several days in Luxor we flew back to Cairo and from there took a bus down the east coast of the Red Sea and inland to Mount Sinai. I climbed the mountain, getting up at 2:00 a.m. to be at the peak at sunrise! The Sinai slides, included in the "Luxor" batch, begin with the Suez canal.
I took almost all of the pictures in this show, I borrowed a few for the sake of the 6th graders at Linscott Charter School; this show was originally developed to share in the classroom with me in attendance, providing explanations. I haven't yet included a narrative to make this an independent experience. I plan to, sometime! In the meantime, skip over the blank slides reserved for commentary. We weren't allowed to take pictures in many of the tombs themselves, so I'm including a "links" page (click here) that shows photos of a couple of tombs I visited but couldn't photograph. I may add more at some point.
